What do you do at Home Property Lawyers?
I am a solicitor and have worked in the law for over 40 years qualifying as a solicitor in 1988. I oversee the Technical team at HPL. I have many years experience dealing with all kinds of residential work, particularly high end and complex conveyancing matters. I have built up a niche practice acting for other professionals such as solicitors in other law firms, barristers, architects and accountants. Virtually all of my work is by way of recommendation. I have substantial past experience in nearly all mainstream areas of legal practice and this enables me to deal with virtually any legal and technical problems that arise. My background also enables me to deal with the most complex of transactions.
What’s your career background?
I have worked for two other solicitors firms before joining Langleys Solicitors about 30 years ago. I have substantial past experience in litigation, family law and personal injury and clinical negligence matters and so have a good grounding in property related matters such as trusts and matrimonial orders dealing with transfers of property.
When I first started in the law it was in residential conveyancing and when I did my solicitors training I very much enjoyed the complexities of land law. Conveyancing is much more complex than is often appreciated and I regularly have to tackle complex legal issues which can be both challenging and fascinating at the same time. It is always good to find a solution which is what it is all about. I also enjoy conveyancing as it regularly brings me into contact with clients and selling and buying property, apart from being quite a stressful experience, is one of the most important transactions in a person’s life. It is satisfying to help clients through their conveyancing transaction.
What do you love about working at Home Property Lawyers?
Primarily the people. I work with some amazing people many of whom are significantly younger than I am and so keep me young! There is some real talent in our business.
What makes your house a home?
